I created this webpage about a year ago but left it blank and lonely. Every time I finished a quilt my mom asked if I had posted a picture of it on my site. (yes, mothers still nag even when you are an adult) but the answer was always no. I had too many quilts on the docket to even think about soliciting more.
I am pleased to report that I am caught up on the quilts on my list including all the Black Forest fire quilts a group of us were doing.

And now I get to quilt MY quilt. There is a story a mile long regarding this quilt. It started as a swap quilt. 9 of us each made a block (9 times) and swapped. Except at the last minute, someone dropped out. You can't make much of a quilt with 8 blocks so I stepped up and made 2 blocks. That meant I got two of each and since you can't make a very symmetrical quilt with 18 blocks, I had to make two more to make 20. So much for a swap quilt (6 of the 20 blocks are mine).
The saga continued for several years as I struggled to meld 8 peoples interpretations of the color purple. I agonized and debated and finally finished the flimsy (the quilt top) in 2011 (2 months before my 5th baby was born and 4 months before a cross country move). Despite my outlandish goals, I did not get it quilted before we moved. (Would that have been a foregone conclusion to anyone but me?).
Trivia question: What happens when the item on the top of the priority list gets pushed aside?
Answer: It lands on the bottom of the pile.
And then? Many more things fall on top of it.
And that's what happened. For 3 years.

All I needed was a back. Sounds simple enough. Remind me to tell you why quilt backs are not simple in my world. For now, all you need to know is that I finished the back (woohoo!) and now it's going on the frame (double woohoo!). And then, I will be finished with everything I ever hoped to accomplish (except that big pile of UPFs) and I need more quilts to quilt.
So, I have spent the week creating a pricing sheet, starting a facebook page, a twitter account, an Instagram account and this webpage. (Thanks for the enouragement Mom!). If you have a quilt you just finished or one that has been collecting dust for decades (trust me, I understand!), let me know. I'd love to quilt your quilt!
